You don’t have to teach a girl to BE a girl. It comes mixed in with their DNA, somehow, and my daughter is a supreme example. Her favorite color has always been pink, her heroes have always been princesses, and she is (almost always) the epitome of sugar and spice and everything nice (whereas her brother probably is made of actual snips and snails and puppy dog tails, but that’s a story for another day).

We’ve dressed her up as princess several times now for photo shoots, but we really, really wanted to reach a day when we could dress her up and take princess pictures at a really-o, truly-o castle, and once again, our vacation was going to be our chance to make all of our photography dreams come true.

For us, Pinterest is the new Google Image Search… for those occasions when we want to find out about something and we only want INTERESTING and BEAUTIFUL results. Bingo. And that’s how we discovered Castle De Haar (Kasteel de Haar if you are from the Netherlands). It’s a castle complete with moats and drawbridges and courtyards and dragons… well, they were plumb out of dragons the day we visited, but you get the picture. Perfect, perfect, perfect.
